Private field expeditions · South & East Asia

The richness of a place
lives at its edges.

Where forest meets river, ridge meets valley, wet season meets dry — ecologists call it the edge effect: the narrow margin where two worlds overlap holds more life than either one alone. Sunda's Edge builds small, expert-led expeditions along exactly those margins, for travellers who want to see why.

Field-first, not itinerary-first

Our guides are working naturalists before they are tour leaders — trained on the ground in the taxa we chase, from riverine damselflies to montane beetles. Groups are held to four to six people, so a walk never turns into a queue, and every question gets a real answer.

The guide

Led in the field, not from a desk

Sunda's Edge is built around a single working field odonatologist — comfortable identifying dragonflies and damselflies at a glance, and conversant across the wider insect orders, mountain trail systems, and river ecology of the regions we operate in.
